10 Year Anniversary!
Wow! Time truly flies when you’re having fun! It’s hard to believe it’s been a decade since I launched Palo Will Travel. I feel incredibly fortunate to have the chance to travel the globe, enjoying top airlines and hotels while sharing insider insights with my followers.
People often ask if I always fly in premium cabins like Business or First Class. To find out, I used an interesting tool called OpenFlights to analyze my flight details over the past ten years since I started this blog on March 10th, 2014.
Let’s start with the overall stats for a decade of flying…
Total Miles Flown: 1,009,526 miles

To the Moon: 4.226x
To Mars: 0.0291x

Now let’s look at the breakdown by cabin…

72.1% of the time I’m flying in a Premium Cabin for flights longer than 2,750mi |
*Note: Premium Cabin includes Premium Economy, Business & First Class
*Note: Premium Economy doesn’t include extra legroom seats as those are Economy
*Note: Business Class is used for International flights only as US Domestic flights count as First Class
Now let’s look at the most popular airlines and planes by mileage… I’ve flown the most on the Boeing 777-300ER and with American Airlines thanks to many LAX-SYD flights.
Conclusion: More than 50% of the time I’m flying in a Premium Cabin which makes this hobby of miles and points worth it! Cheers to another 10 years 🙂
